The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. 4 the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. 7 those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. 9 behold, we stand in awe of our Sustainer's judgment on a distressful, fateful Day!" 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 [They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold. 13 The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. 21 [And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated." 22
