In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 For the living and the dead, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 When it is said to them: "Bow in homage," they do not bow. 25 The living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
