Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
