Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
