Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 and the severally severing 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
