Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
