The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
