The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
