The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
