The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 "When we have become decayed bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
