The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and gathered his people together 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
