The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then he mustered 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
