The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then he mustered 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
