The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
