The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
