The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
