The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and gathered his people together 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
