He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 From him you are distracted. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 lofty and pure, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 and olives and palms, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
