He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 and fearfully, 9 you ignore him. 10 Not this way – this is the advice. 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and clover, 28 and olives and palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and grass, 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
