He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 From him you are distracted. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 his mother, his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Dust shall cover them 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
