He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 when the blind came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 and in awe [of God] 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 lofty and pure, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
