He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 you attended to him, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and fearfully, 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 Olives and dates, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 laughing and joyous 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
