The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
