The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
