The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
