The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 that hide, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
