The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
