The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
