Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and the night that falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
