Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 Illustrious scribes 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
