Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 who know of all that you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
