Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 watching over you 11 who know all that you do: 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
