The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
