The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
