The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
