The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
