The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 when they were seated around it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
