The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
