The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 By the Promised Day! 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
