The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky with its constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 when they were seated around it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
