The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
