The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
