The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is no merriment. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
