The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The piercing star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
