The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
