The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people together 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
