The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star - 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
