Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a Garden on high, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
