Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
