Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
