Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and couches raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
